As part of the ENDURANCE project, we have put together an informal network of 20 UK local authorities that are interested in sharing best practice on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. This network is holding its first meeting on 3 September in York (see event listing). It is not too late for other local authorities to join.
As part of the Do the Right Mix project, we are promoting the Supermodals photo competition. Whether you use a local bus or train, your bike, a carshare, your trusty two feet or any other alternative to travelling alone in your car, you are a supermodal! Enter the Supermodals photo competition by 4 August and get the chance to win four tickets to Bestival (Isle of Wight, 4-7 September). All you have to do is share your best photo of your journey and tell us why you’re a supermodal by following the four simple steps on www.supermodals.co.uk/participate/.
Endurance aims to assist cities and regions with developing Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) by facilitating networking, mutual learning and sharing of experience and best practice across countries.
Act TravelWise is the UK co-ordinator of the ENDURANCE project. We are acting as the 'National Focal Point' and are keen to promote SUMPs and offer training and networking opportunities to Local Authorities wanting to develop a SUMP. We are looking for Local Authorities to join our UK SUMP network so if you are interested, please read on.
