Twenty local authorities have joined an informal UK national network on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs), co-ordinated by Act TravelWise as part of a three-year European project called ENDURANCE. The aim is to share best practice, both nationally and internationally on SUMPs.
Social media is a hugely untapped platform for influencing travel behaviour. It was used with great effect during the London 2012 Games as part of the "Get Ahead of the Games" campaign.
