NHS England/NHS Improvement - Hospitals Car Parking Study

 Nhs Improvement

With the recent Government Manifesto commitment to provide free car parking to specified groups of patients and staff, and the provision of free car parking for NHS staff during the Covid-19 response, car parking has risen up the political agenda, highlighting a need for a more consistent approach to managing NHS car parking.  To address this, Mott MacDonald have been appointed by NHS England and NHS Improvement to undertake a car parking study to make recommendations for a recognised approach for managing hospital car parking.

The study will consider demand and capacity issues, charging, the role of the private sector, payment and permit management technologies and sustainable alternatives for both staff and patients.

To inform our recommendations, we wish to engage with Directors of Estates and/or NHS car park managers to explore current issues and challenges, and discuss opportunities for a recognised national approach to managing hospital car parking.

We are looking to undertake telephone interviews in early February 2021. Interviews will take approximately 45 minutes and will be confidential. Our reporting will be anonymised and we will not attribute comments to individual Trusts.

If you wish to take part, please contact [email protected] .

Many thanks for your support.

Kind regards
