The DfT has today published three important reports that help us make the case to LAs, LEPs, health authorities and business that investment in sustainable transport, of which walking and cycling is a big part, makes sound economic sense. These reports should provide a useful point of reference when making the case for further investment in sustainable and active travel.

The Week saw a wide range of positive activities, all celebrating the role sustainable travel can play in enhancing quality of life. Permanent measures implemented in the UK in conjunction with EMW 2014 include more cycling parking and car club bays, a borough-wide 20 mph zone, a new major segregated cycle path and a new car-restricted area.
