As part of the ENDURANCE project, we have put together an informal network of 20 UK local authorities that are interested in sharing best practice on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. This network is holding its first meeting on 3 September in York (see event listing). It is not too late for other local authorities to join.

On 11 July the Department for Transport announced the recipients of its Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) 2015-16 funding. Forty-four new sustainable transport schemes will receive £64 million from government. Further match funding will bring the total investment to over £440 million. “New initiatives across the country will tackle congestion while making it easier, safer, and cheaper for people to cycle, walk or take the bus.” See the DfT press release for details.
