The next meeting of the South East regional group will be held on Tuesday 11 October at Motion’s offices in Guildford.
The autumn 2016 meeting of the Midlands regional group is scheduled for Thursday 6 October at 10:30 am at the offices of Transport for West Midlands in Birmingham. The meetings are now chaired by Rachel Evans (firstname.lastname@example.org) of ATKINS and Kerry Swingler (email@example.com) of Centro, either of whom can be contacted for more information.
Sustrans will be delivering a series of open-enrolment Workplace Travel Champions Training courses throughout October-December. The sessions will be hosted by the Big Lottery Fund and are set to take place in Newcastle, Birmingham and Belfast. These courses will give workplace staff the knowledge, skills and confidence to champion sustainable travel within their organisation; providing them with a wealth of tools and materials.
Bikeplus announces an exciting two day conference in Oxford about bike share in the UK. Participants will gain wider understanding of important issues in the sector from bike share procurement to the latest innovations as well as learning lessons from the Shared Electric Bike Programme. The Carplus Shared Transport Conference 2016 to be held in Glasgow will focus on how shared travel can be integrated with other forms of sustainable transport, particularly in low carbon transport and active travel hubs.
Cycle to Work Day is a national event to be held on 14 September 2016, supported by Act TravelWise and other partners. It aims to encourage everyone to take to two wheels and cycle to work for at least one day.
Following upon a successful and well attended second meeting of our NHS Travel & Transport Managers' Forum on 12 July, the forum's third meeting will be held on Tuesday 13 September from 2:30-4:30 pm at BuroHappold in London, with an option to join via teleconference.
The next Act TravelWise Midlands Regional Meeting (combined West and East Midlands) will be held on Tuesday 2 August, hosted by Atkins.
This event is hosted by Microsoft Research in Cambridge, a city which has the best cycling infrastructure catering for the highest modal share of trips made by bicycle of any city in the UK. Delegates will have the chance to hear from the project leaders for the cycle schemes and site visits will allow delegates to view the infrastructure first hand. Join us this July in Cambridge to understand what makes a great station cycle hub and a great cycling city.
